Message from Vice Chancellor - Engr. Abul Kalam
The Department of Computer and Information Systems Engineering in this University
is unique in Pakistan because this descipline was introduced in 1983 long before
the Information Technology drive of the present Government was launched at the beginning
of the present millenium. The NED University is now the only Public Sector Engineering
University which offers two undergraduate four-year programmes i.e. Computer Engineering
from one Engineering Faculty & Computer Science from Science Faculty - initiated
in 1998. Both these disciplines - the difference between which is not always appreciated
- are of equal importance. The manner in which knowledge derived from both of them
has been dovetailed in this Programming Competition & Project Exhibition TechElite
is clearest indication of the role of Information Technology in this University.
Message from Dean ECE - Prof. Dr. Talat Altaf
I feel great pride and pleasure in giving this message for the launch of TechElite.
TechElite is the embodiment of creativity, dedication and professionalism of the
students of CIS, whose reputation for excellence and high standards is reverberated
by the achievements of its student’s body and the contribution of its alumni in
academic and commercial world. The launch of TechElite is aimed at providing students
with an opportunity to gain experience and exposure to the world of technology innovations
and encourage them to cultivate their creative talents. I would therefore like to
congratulate and wish the very best of luck to the CIS final year students and the
team of TechElite who have worked with devotion and diligence for the launch of
this event.
Message from Chairman CIS

It is a real honour for me to express a few words on this auspicious occasion of
the launching of TechElite. The efforts of the final year students of CIS in organizing
this major IT event are truly praise worthy. It will contribute in raising their
intellectual capability. This event will further prove that NED produces not just
talented engineers but true professionals, who excel at any task they take up. I
express my profound expectation that this event will be highly successful.
